So wonderfully written! In my mind, I was reliving the drive! You are soooo right about the stops and the pressure you feel as those starving, desperate eyes stare right through you. UGH! Oh and those monkeys are Rhesus (sp?) monkeys carrying diseases like aids!! They are known to grab things from you and scratch you! There were tons of then at the Agra Fort. I feel for you because being alone on such a loooooooong drive is mentally and emotionally draining. It is just sensory overload! And the heat...we were lucky to see the Taj at 5:30am before the 113 temps. Whew! Stay safe...Did you get to visit the Agra Fort? The love story is just so moving!
